Have significant experience in the Indian jurisdiction, in the Supreme Court, with top law firms and also as in-house counsel of a big conglomerate. A number of my Public Interest Litigations were reported in the national newspapers.
Consulted on the drafting of the privacy laws in India and Indian Financial Consumer Protection Code. Working on creating link between the Indian and Australian legal sector.
Received numerous awards including the Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence for 2014 and for 2016. Was a finalist for the Law Institute of Victoria- Access to Justice Award 2016. Profiled in the Top 50 of the Indian Community in Melbourne in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
First Indian born on the board of the Law Institute of Victoria which is the peak body that governs the legal profession in Victoria. I am also on the board of Gymnastics Victoria, Good Shephard Aus NZ and Graduate House of the University of Melbourne.
The President of the International Law Association Victorian Chapter, National Vice President of the Asian Australian Lawyer’s Association, Victorian Convener of the Asian Australian Alliance and the Chair of the Women in Business Chapter of the Australia India Business Council.
Commissioner for the AFL South East Commission and was on the AFL advisory Committee for multicultural engagement I have been a Cricket Australia Ambassador as well as the Commonwealth Games 2018 Ambassador. A member of the Football Federation of Victoria’s Tribunal as well as a presenter on SEN Plus radio show Stockman’s Brunch.
The founder of the organisation Multicultural Women in Sport which aims to empower women from multicultural backgrounds through sport. Young leaders at Leadership Victoria as well as junior lawyers and law students through the Asian Australian Lawyer’s Association and Melbourne University.
